before following...

what i post:

current content forecast: oc content, most likely (on hiatus; honing skills underneath a waterfall in rural tibet like a monk)
*this is my current hyperfixation, and the only thing i am going to post.

if you're homophobic on my page, go fuck yourself. i don't care.
loli/shotacon etc. please don't interact.

about the artist

hi, i'm callie!i've been drawing for over a decade and specialize in figure drawing. i like to experiment quite a lot with style but i generally enjoy using bold colors and warm lighting as well as much softer palettes. i also greatly enjoy writing, but am terrible at finishing anything.my drive to create artwork usually stems from my primary special interests, which often last years at a time. i don't have control over them, but they keep me busy.i have been professionally diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, so please cut me some slack where it's due!*i am an adult.

fun callie facts

  • my other minor hyperfixations include neon genesis evangelion, the evillious chronicles, splatoon (oops this one took over my life), and pokemon mystery dungeon.

  • ~N2 level Japanese speaker

  • i am quite a big fan of lesser appreciated creatures such as snails, slugs, moths, squid, shrimp, worms, and other squirms.

  • my left thumb is double jointed, but not in any useful way.

  • favorite colors: pink, white, red, blue

interacting...

while interacting with me:

  • i used to be a lot better with opening dms in a timely manner but i'm now pretty forgetful; if the message is urgent or you really want me to see it, feel free to send a followup ping!

  • additionally, i've grown very skittish of social media in general, but i really do read every comment and ask, even if i don't have anything good to reply with.

  • please don't come into my dms asking if we can be friends... i am shy around people i don't know.

☆ Pricing ($USD) ☆

ColorHeadshotHalfbodyFullbody
Sketch only$20$25$35
Add lineart+$10+$15+$20
Add flats+$15+$20+$25
OR
Full render+$20+$25+$30

Payment is accepted via Ko-fi or Paypal only. Payment plans are not available.
Progress past the sketch stage will not continue until full payment is received.

color:
sketch only: no coloring will be added beneath the lines. if desired, a monochrome tone can be filled within the lines to distinguish your character from the background.
add flats: flat colors will be added beneath the lines with minimal shading for depth. colors can either be an exact colorpick from a reference image, or have some hue variations for color cohesion.
full render: in addition to basic coloring, full shading and polish will be added for a fully rendered piece. polish includes selective coloring of lineart, the inclusion of complex gradients for bounce light, floating particles (if applicable), etc.
sketch lines vs. lineart:
lineart is optional! sketch lines will be neatened up before completion, but some roughness and/or aliasing will still remain. lineart involves a complete redrawing of the lines to be as clean and neat as possible.
i typically use a binary (pixel) brush with pen pressure or a smooth, aliased pen for my lines. let me know if you have a preference!
additional notes:
    - i draw on a ~3000x3000 px canvas at 72 dpi, which is ideal for web use. if you want printing resolution at 350 dpi, please let me know.
    - for exceptionally complex designs containing a great number of traits and/or highly detailed patterns, a complexity fee of +$5 (headshot) or +$10 (halfbody, fullbody) may be charged at my discretion. please check my examples section for an example of a complex design.
    - unfortunately, no complex backgrounds are available at this time. my current background options are:
        - one-color fill (white, transparent, etc.)
        - color fill with shape(s) behind your character
        - transparent with "sticker" effect (thick white border around your character)
please let me know if you'd like any of these options at no extra fee. if not indicated, i will default to a transparent background.

☆ Terms of Service ☆

by commissioning me, you agree to the following terms:

  • i have the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason, or refuse making certain alterations or additions for any reason.

  • all iterations of the commissioned work, including sketches, progress updates, and the final work, are for personal use only. the work shall not be used for commercial purposes, the creation of NFTs (non-fungible tokens), or the training of generative AI programs of any kind.

  • i still retain the copyright of the finished product and am permitted to use it as example work, potentially including usage in a portfolio or uploading to social media. if the client would prefer that their commission remains for private use only, this must be stated directly as soon as possible.

  • turnaround time will be upheld to my greatest ability, but if a delay is expected, the client will be informed as soon as possible.

  • no refunds will be given after payment outside of extenuating circumstances on my part. please do not commission me if you are in a position of financial insecurity that may result in inability to pay on time.

  • in order to keep the commission process running smoothly and efficiently, i request that my clients are attentive to any communications and can respond in a semi-prompt manner to prevent long wait times between steps.

  • violation of any of the terms above, as well as any other unprofessional conduct during the commissioning process, such as ghosting, rude behavior, failure to meet payment deadlines, or price haggling, can and will result in being blacklisted.

☆ Commission Process ☆

before commissioning:
before reaching out, please first check to see if A) commissions are open, and B) i'm offering the type of commission you're looking to buy! additionally, if i'm offering FCFS/slot commissions, check if there are still slots available!
step 1:
please dm me to indicate that you'd like to commission me! please include the following information in your message:
        - headshot, halfbody, or fullbody
        - sketch lines or lineart
        - no color, flats, or full render
        - what character you'd like (site link, toyhouse link, etc.)
i will then respond asap to let you know whether i can accept so we can start the commission process. if i don't respond in 24 hours, please bump in case the notification got eaten! i will also run the expected final price past you so we can be on the same page before continuing.
step 2:
once i accept, please provide some more detail on exactly what you'd like; the more detail the better! this includes posing, facial expression, and the like. please also provide ample references of your character (if not available online) as well as a little about their personality (if applicable) so I can represent them as accurately as possible.
once i have enough details, sketching will begin. as soon as i have a rough sketch i'm satisfied with, i will send it to you for your opinion. this is the time to ask for any big changes to be made, e.g. anything that involves redrawing entire sections, as well as anything else you would like to tweak-- don't be shy! once the sketch is to your liking, i require payment in full before any more progress is made. this payment is due within one week after the sketch is approved -- let me know when payment is sent so i can confirm asap!
step 3:
after payment is received, i will continue work on finishing your commission. i will provide progress updates as i go along (lineart is finished, flats have been added), but feel free to request a progress update at any time. after the sketching stage, i am no longer able to make significant structural changes to the piece unless absolutely necessary; an additional editing fee may result due to lost time. however, for smaller changes, please let me know so i can fix them asap! any mistakes on my part that need to be resolved will be fixed at no extra cost.
step 4:
once i feel that my work is complete, i will send one last progress update to confirm that everything is correct before the finishing touches and final image export. the final work will be provided as a .png or a google drive link for downloading in case of compression issues. this link may disappear at some point, so please download it asap!
this concludes the commission process. thank you for supporting my work!
